Terrific Thursday

Several friends were out today, we sure did miss them!  The sand table was enjoyed by all - we measured sand, practiced putting it through funnels, scooped it into bowls and dug for buried cars. Also, the caterpillar puzzle was fun to use as we matched colors,  Before going outside, we made a winter hat for you and practiced our fine motor skills with putting decorations on it.

Friends

Today we spent time sharing and taking turns with our friends.  A lot of the morning was spent in the kitchen playing, sharing the small cars at the table, helping others find playground toys they would like and we read several books and practiced our listening skills.

Pajama Day

What a fun and cozy day!  There were some cute sleepyheads coming into our classroom this morning.  They certainly enjoyed wearing their onesies, flannels, slippers and bringing their blankets from home. We brought out a new puzzle, played more with the new baby doll accessories and made handprints in a mitten for you.  We ran around outside, popped popcorn and rested in the room at the end of the morning and watched Paw Patrol for a little bit - a favorite!

Birthday celebration fun

We celebrated a birthday today and had a fun morning with friends.  Miss Kathleen taught us some new songs and read a couple of fun books to the class.  We were able to spend just a few minutes on the playground as we played choo-choo to run off some energy.  The sand table was popular today and we opened a few new toys, puzzles and books for our classroom.  We talked about pajama day coming up on Thursday... see you then!

Terrific Thursday

We started the day by finishing up our melted snowmen.  They enjoyed placing the snowman's hat, nose, arms, eyes and scarf on the white "melted" paint.  They wanted to work on more so we jumped right into feeling different textures and gluing them to a hand print.  We talked about colors, shapes and textures. We ended the day with a delicious healthy snack of yogurt and fruit kabobs and let them watch a few minutes of Paw Patrol - they loved the special treat!

Great day!

Today we made a "melted snowman" and worked on more of color sorting.  We also experimented with letter magnets and spelled our names with them.  The kids enjoyed making sounds with the letters and picking out letters of different colors.  It was such a beautiful day so we spent a few extra minutes outside.
